Reflection/ Statistical Journal

Reflection/ Statistical Journal

The data collection process ,based on my experience, is very tedious as we had to record the information we gathered in each 15 minute interval very quickly before the next 15 minute interval began. But through this data collection process, I realized why statistics are important. Statistics are important because they help us in data collection.

Statistics can be observed anywhere in real life. Election predictions are statistics, anything food product that says they x% more or less of a certain ingredient is a statistic. Life expectancy is a statistic. If you play card games card counting is using statistics. There are tons of statistics everywhere you look.

Though statistics are very useful, when they are not presented properly, may tweak or mislead interpretation of situation.  This may occur when information is gathered wrongly, charts and graphs  do not start from zero, and many others. The statistics could deceive people and could lead to bad events.

Statistics can come in the form of bar graphs, line graphs, histograms, stem and leaf diagrams and many more.
